Mr. Oni Head

Here's the oni head t-shirt design version, with mockup. Had to beef up the line work a bit to allow the ink to pass through the screen. The art print version will be digitally painted, but can take a while to complete considering my current workload. Let me know what you guys think!

New Indie Shop

Here’s my new indie (non-Etsy) shop. Let’s see how Retailr works out for me. Also, the 4th slide isn’t showing up for some reason, I’ll have to look into that. The site’s still a work-in-progress design-wise, but the PayPal shopping cart system’s already set-up.

Oni Head Work-in-Progress Update

After not touching this drawing over the past few months, I've decided to pick it back up and resume work. I've added detail work primarily in the hair with pencil, though it's kinda hard to see the individual strands of hair from my cell phone's shoddy camera. Also added shading in the face and horns.

My original intention was for this oni head piece to be silkscreened onto clothing, but I'm concerned that the fine lines won't transfer during the exposure part, even with a higher mesh. I'll try to find a way around this issue, probably by thickening the line work a bit more. Even then, should this particular design actually does go to screen printing, it will probably only be offered in dark inks on lighter garments. For now, Oni-san will be released in giclee print and greeting card format.

365 Challenge: Day 7

"This. Is. Bullshit." (Pencil, ink, bit of Photoshop)
My OC, Bob Corgman shares my exact sentiments in regards to today's sub-zero temperatures. He would much rather be curled up in his wing chair next to the fireplace, in his study, sipping on a glass of 30 year-old scotch.

Progress work

...of the oni head/mask/thing. I still have detail work and shading to add in but at least I've worked up the gumption to resume illustrating this piece after letting it sit for weeks on end. Hopefully I'll maintain enough motivation to get this one ready for screen printing soon.

There are numerous factors that have been contributing to my overall desire to draw anything new for the shop these past several months, but I prefer not to divulge any specific details right now.

Work-in-progress

...of an oni mask for my newest t-shirt design. I may also make an art print version depending on the results.

I do sincerely apologize for the lack of new illustrations/designs this year. I've been experiencing periods of "burnout" where I'd either start a bunch of projects but then lose the motivation to finish them or simply not touch my list of concepts at all. And whenever I get the gumption to pick up on my new designs, other non-related business and general life issues get tossed in my way. But come this year's holiday season, I'll try my best to put out at least a couple of new designs, dammit!

New Items!

I have a few new items listed, plus I'm happy to announce that I've re-opened my photography shop again. I've realized that I've been doing everything wrong with the titles, descriptions, etc. that my shop barely showed up in Google's search results, which explains my poor sales. So with much tweaking with the SEO, here's hoping things turn around for the better.

I've also been working on more new photography pieces, which will be added to the shop eventually. At some point in the future, I would love to expand on new lines of merchandise, such as canvas prints, iPad cases/clutches, and even home decor items. But, I gotta take baby steps first to avoid being overwhelmed.
