Crostini, meaning "little toasts," is a charming shop, featuring unique mixed-media pieces based off of the larger-scaled work of artist and owner, Meredith Cutler. She describes them as "Small, savory bites of the bigger picture...little 'crackers' with crunch and substance."Inspired by the fast-paced world that she lives in, Meredith incorporates various elements into her work, from the traditional, such as canvases, textiles and pigments, to digital tools, to the more unusual materials like household plastics, scrap paper and studio debris. Much of her later work, such as the one shown here, dabbles in retro-centric imagery with original illustrations and various vintage papers. Sort of reminds me of old 50s and 60s science fiction shows and movies.
